Industry and Occupational Trends Research for the California Community Colleges
In my ongoing work with the Centers of Excellence for Labor Market Research, I provide research support for vocational education programs across the California community college system, including writing reports and literature reviews, developing and analyzing survey data, and managing databases of vocational programs.
Measuring Policy Influence of Health Interventions
In my role as a qualitative research analyst with the Global Health Group at UCSF, I managed the data analysis for a five-year process evaluation of the African Health Markets for Equity project. I developed a theoretical framework for operationalizing and measuring policy influence, conducted fieldwork and in-depth interviews in Nairobi, analyzed longitudinal interview data from multiple stakeholder groups using Atlas.ti, and prepared academic manuscripts and internal reports for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and implementing partners. This research appeared in Health Policy and Planning in September 2018.
Providing Technical Assistance for the Strong Workforce Program Rollout
Under Kathy Booth, I wrote resource guides for an early version of the LaunchBoard, a suite of dashboards that make data on student progress, completion, employment, and earnings outcomes available to educators for the purpose of program improvement.
Developing and Assessing Curriculum to Promote Youth Engagement
I worked with the Center for Regional Change to develop a curriculum—Putting Youth on the Map!—to support young researchers’ access to and use of data and analyses to complement their social change efforts.
